I want to get a puggle and name her Bender (because Futurama is my favorite show) but 1- too soon I'm not anywhere ready for a new dog and 2- regardless we're waiting till we move to Corvallis in a year and know what our $$$ sitch is. But I don't do well dogless.
Going to get a beta fish and name him JoFish Stalin in August after we get back from the east coast. Just for something to take care of even tho fish don't love you.

I love that like 3 months after I finally get on antidepressants that actually work my service dog dies unexpectantly. Man, the universe sure loves to fuck me.

I haven't been on because im sad and i miss my dog. Sorry.

The steroids he was given for his disc issues were wreaking havoc on his heart murmur and the little guy just couldn't take it. The vet assistant said she's seen this a lot, dogs seem better because they want to go home and die with their family, where they're comfortable. That seems to be what Loki did. I think he was ready to go yesterday but he tried to hang on for us.
He's not in pain anymore but my house feels empty without him snuffling around.

We get him in the car and he's still seizing, vomiting bloid and starting to foam at the mouth. Before we even got out of the parking lot he stopped breathing. I started compressing his chest and he would like... start breathing again then stop. We got him to the vet but he never regained consciousness. The little comrade is in the soviet union in the sky and my heart is shattered.

We got the doggerton home and he had blood in his poopers. Called the vet and they said that was normal with his steroid shots.
Brought him inside and sat him on his pony blankets and he still seemed in pain but less so, and wanted pets which was a plus.
Then suddenly he started having a violent seizure. We ran over to him and he was vomiting blood and pooping. We bundled him in his pony blanket and jist ran to the car back to the vet.

Pupper is home, on steroids for his disc issues for the foreseeable future and on bed rest for a few weeks. Still in some pain but we're going to keep an eye on him.
to see if he's getting any better over time.

I hope my doggerton is doing ok at the vet tonight. He's just 5 minutes away and I want to go hug him and tell him it will be okay. I also wsnt to believe that it will be okay.

The vet wants to keep him overnight for observations. It's a waiting game now, will pick him up tomorrow and hear the prognosis. Tonight my wife and I need to make some difficult decisions before we go in ("if ___ then ___" type of things so we're not blindsided by a hard choice there). He's only 9, we were not prepared to have these discussions yet.
Mother-in-law may come down to Oregon to be with us which would mean a lot.

Taking Loki in to the vet in an hour to see if it's time to say goodbye.
