Pinned toot

I was late to the flock, so I figured I should be early to the herd😜

Pro tip. Testing on the device you actually build for will save hours of debugging😅

Swift 5 is almost here, so naturally, I just finally got my RPi zero running Swift 4.1.3😏

TIL: viewSafeAreaInsetsDidChange🤦‍♂️
At least it fixes this ugly workaround.

On a semi-related note, I love deleting code😊

In you can do a lot with extensions, but it still bugs me that you can't add a variable to track the state of something without subclassing. It seems like the compiler could create a subclass for you, but that seems kinda ugly too.

It's not a wonder so many software projects grow so out-of-control when you have to add another file just to add a variable to an object.🙄

Me: I really should finish up this app update and get it shipped.
Also me: I wonder how long it would take me to write an algorithm that produces every possible image in a 10x10 pixel space using RGB colors.🤓

tfw you know what the problem is, and you know at least 3 ways to fix it, but none of them *feel* right 🧐

If the cord on your soldering iron doesn’t have a piece of tape on it, you are doing something wrong😜

As if we needed any more evidence that Facebook was a truly evil company:

tl;dr: Facebook paid users $20/mo to install (what is essentially) their shitty Onavo VPN and track all their internet traffic.

Other highlights include:

- Paying users an additional $20 per friend they referred
- Requiring users to give them a screenshot of their last 30 days of Amazon orders
- Has users install a root certificate on their phones

Most software is like a giant tire fire trying to put itself out with gasoline😖

tfw: you keep putting in more and more breakpoints because they aren't being hit, and then you realize you forgot to press run😅

Sometimes it feels like I’m just helping the bugs multiply by fixing them😬

I guess I have been out of the loop for a while, but I just can’t believe how fast my new Mac mini is. It runs circles around my old one (2009), and my MacBook Pro (2011), and I haven’t even heard the fan yet. Apps open instantaneously, and Xcode now builds my app faster than it can install it to the phone😍. Can’t wait till I can afford to max out the RAM, and add an external GPU!

Unlike Apple's app review, Google's "...will be conducted by a Google-designated third party assessor, may cost between $15,000 and $75,000 (or more)" Whee.
