@VmKid @Texan_Reverend @MistahFixIt @I_Am_Clockwork Yeah, I understood that. That's why I said "It not perfect system." πŸ™‚

@VmKid @Texan_Reverend @MistahFixIt @I_Am_Clockwork Unless you've decided to completely delete your Twitter account, then I assume that you could simply link your new transferred account to the Mastodon Bridge instead of the old one and people could find you. It not perfect system, but it's a start.

Interesting... When you create "Lists" on Mastodon, they're only forward-facing. The toots only start appearing from the point that an account is added to the list, not all the toots on that account. That can be a good thing and a bad one. I guess just know how the feature works. πŸ™‚

@maloki Just checked in on old stuff to make some records and compile stuff, and I saw this again. I'm pretty sure they've never updated the instance. They were probably just testing it since they are a cloud hosting service.

Do you love ? Do you love Krog and Torg? They made a just for you. Check it out! youtu.be/jh5buGkQVQI

@phryk - I think we agree.

My point is that *Mastodon* is not a culture. Your instance/community is.

Fascists, etc, will become part of the Fediverse and use Mastodon. Some instances will block them and defederare. Others will follow and federate.

Mastodon, et. al., is great NOT because of a lack of bad actors, but because of granular user and instance control.

@Canageek I'll probably compile a new list sometime next week, and this time separate groups between crew and fans. Previously, it was few enough that I just sorted by approximate frequency of usage at the time.

@Canageek If I make a new list, of course, but I don't know if you can edit toots, particularly old ones.

@Canageek Old list of LRR crew and LRR fans that I compiled last year. Might not be up-to-date, but with the larger exodus from Twitter that's happened lately, I thought it would be a good jumping off point to boost it.

soft reminder to not pester people on twitter because they don't/can't just uproot their support networks or fan followings to come here

it's not as simple as hoping they will follow you over.

LoadingReadyRun made a Crapshot today, mostly about the birdsite, but also Mastodon!

I’m the tiger-pelt-wearing guy!

@jpmens The ATOM-feed seems to be a lot more detailed, including all actions like boosts and favs. RSS only contains your toos. mastodon.social/@jpmens.atom

@DialMforMara @ekimekim That must be a persistent problem in linguistics. You describe or define language using other language, which needs its own definition based on further language, etc. etc. It's a bit of a bootstrap issue. πŸ˜€

@ekimekim @DialMforMara And after re-reading all that, I just realized that the descriptivists are saying "This term is insulting and here's why" without making a judgment on whether insulting someone is good or not. I think I get it more now.

@DialMforMara @ekimekim Thanks for the insight. I was familiar with the Euphemism Treadmill in general, but never got into the nuts and bolts of how it was technically defined. πŸ˜€
