Prototype of my custom laser engraved back cover, in this case for #mobian. The logo scale is not yet correct, design is open for discussion. #pinephone #pine64

"me in the morning, right after I turned the switches on"
This may not be the most impressive winter selfie (it's a 8M sensor outputting 0.3M after all), but you got to start somewhere :) #librem5
I did nothing but taking the photo (looped in a script with v4l2-ctl and dcraw; then displayed on screen using Eye of GNOME) - all the credit goes to Dorota and Martin, and the work continues there: https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/linux-next/-/issues/43
@PINE64 #PinePhone running @postmarketOS with #Phosh and #ModemManager will soon ring immediately when you get a call or text from suspend!
"Mom, can I go outside ?" "Wait until you are a big #Pinetab my little #Pinephone. You are still too small for the cold world out there."
Fresh from the issue tracker: if you install kde-connect on @mobian it will take over all phone calls (aka tel:// URIs), breaking phone calls from the address book.
Fix by setting your preferred phonecall app by adding
x-scheme-handler/tel=sm.puri.Calls.desktop
to /usr/share/applications/gnome-mimeapps.list.
Phosh Overview
"phosh is graphical shell for mobile, touch based devices like smart phones. It’s the default graphical shell on Purism’s Librem 5 (and that’s where it came to life) but projects like Postmarket OS, Mobian and Debian have picked it up putting it into use on other devices as well and contributing patches."
If you have not yet ordered your #mobian branded #pinephone, why not? You know they are a limited batch, did you not know? A few of them are left, so get yours and support us with 10$ and get #debian on your mobile phone! How cool is that?
#PSA: I played with two more USB-C docks/hubs this week. One I had not tried before, and one that previously had refused to work (the Digitus DA-70882).
They both worked just fine with my #PinePhone and its current #DanctNIX (#ArchLinuxARM by @danct12) install.
The one that also is a phone stand is the Digitus DA-70882,
the one that's more like the PINE64 #Convergence dock is the YXwin USB C Hub.
GTK 4.0.1 brings many small bug fixes along with theme and documentation improvements, but the highlights in this update are better media support and better CI. Learn more about these improvements in this short blog from the team: https://blog.gtk.org/2021/01/12/gtk-4-0-1/
The state of the #librem5 's microphone hardware kill switch wasn't indicated so far but that is bound to change:

An experiment from the last weekend.
This demo is a complete ripoff of, I mean inspired by:
https://react-spring-visualizer.com/
https://youtu.be/jWckfDNUJVY?t=1364
The presets are mostly from the react-spring demo as well, though they are a placeholder.
Partially based on the implementation from https://github.com/robb/RBBAnimation
Shouts out to:
Manuel Genovés (not on Fediverse) - help with the math
@tbernard - design
Well, Replay currently looks like this. There're still many things that I don't like internally and that I'll see to modify, but I wanted to be able to show something 😋
All the WIP is here: https://github.com/nahuelwexd/Replay/pull/47
