So like I been doing this on Twitter for over a decade, I guess I got used to not having to explain.

If I put something in quotes, with either no tag, or a ridiculous tagline that obviously is a real person I don't like very much - that's not actually a quote. That's mocking the shit out of them in their own voice.

I tend to explicitly tag quotes; you won't be able to miss the difference. One is clearly a joke; the other will mostly be not funny and have a real name/label.

For example - "No really, ANYONE with sys admin level access can read your DMs. Like Jeffrey Dahmer, or Freddy Kruger; hell if Elon Musk was a sys admin on the Mastodon instance you joined, he could let all his fascist friends read your DMs - no thank you I say." - Twitter Power User

Abramson did not actually say this. His article implied it. But it would be absurd for a man to say Freddy Kruger is in your DMs. The rest he more or less said tho. Okay not Dahmer but like "authoritarian regimes"

@AnarchoNinaWrites thinking about freddy krueger in my dm's and cackling

@old_baby I've thought this out, and Freddy would get me by chasing me into my library, where I'd briefly gain the upper hand by throwing books at him and quoting them as I do it, but then the bookshelf would collapse on top of me and he'd finish me off with a nearby pen knife while cackling "my name is O.G. Readmore baby...."

@AnarchoNinaWrites if freddy got me it would have something to do with my bank account and he would say something like "you're broke, fucker!"
