X-Piratez is honestly the best game I have ever played. It has awakened long-dormant dreams of game development within me. I never really understood the appeal of emergent narrative until I played this game, and now I want to do that sort of thing myself.
A lot of Indy Comics Twitter has descended upon Mastodon.social, grinding @Gargron's image server to a halt.
If y'all decide you’re serious about this place, let me make a suggestion: if you’re part of a collective, then maybe your group should think about running an instance. If nobody in your collective is crazy enough to start one from scratch, there’s always places like masto.host, which make it pretty damn easy.
Also consider throwing a little $ into the Patreon for both whatever instance you end up on, and/or for overall Mastodon development. We don’t have VC or advertisers paying the bills, let’s keep it that way.
The puppy is sleeping.
I'm aggressively positive about trans stuff because:
1) We Rule
2) Fuck You
3) See Point 1
I guess the one thing I miss about Twitter was the ability to scream venom and bile directly at elected officials.
friendly reminder to wrap your heavily political posts inside CW tags.
some people here (including me) abandoned birdsite for the purpose of avoiding the worsening Political Discourse there for the sake of their own mental wellbeing.
seeing all of it again around on mastodon doesn't help them at all, and pretty much the reason social media slowly fatigues me
I've discovered witches.town and hot damn I wish I spoke French.
Okay, okay, so I'm about ready to start the process of shopping around for the Mastodon instance that's Right For Me™ but I have no idea where to start or how to compare instances.
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
I know we're all socialists and anarchists now, but goddamn I miss Obama.
In addition to the new official masto stickers, you should get yourself one of these awesome "Every Tweet Feeds the Beast" stickers

The worst thing about growing up in the 90s is if you go back to watch movies and TV from your youth, there's always that worry in the back of your mind that there will be a crossdressing scene set to "Would I Lie To You?" that you've forgotten about.
Having a great time on Mastodon so far send tweet Alexa send tweet Alexa send tweet god damn it what is going on Alexa send tweet shit Alexa send toot
My puppy is going through dog puberty so he gets little doggy boners all the time and it's just the most awkward thing.
Me trying to figure out how to use mastodon
Oh my god, it’s called a toot.
It's been a few days since we had that huge influx of new users. Are you here to stay?
Consider pitching in a few dollars to the project, as it is ad-free and we do not sell your data.

I've discovered the word "addlepated" and boy, do I relate.
Speaking of resources! the only way mastodon, & every instance of mastodon survives is through our donations!
Servers cost money, development costs time, moderation & admin duties cost time! Twitter makes its money by selling your time, your relationships, your information to advertisers. Mastodon doesn't.
You can support development+uptime for the main instance through https://www.patreon.com/mastodon or https://liberapay.com/Mastodon/
On other instances, please ask your admin how you can support them!
I kind of want .social to close for new accounts at 100,000. I'm more & more concerned that the task of moderating & nurturing a meaningful community within the instance will become far too large for the resources of our tiny, basically volunteer team. :S
I also feel like massing so many people on one instance weakens the potential of mastodon in general to play with models of building interconnected, human-scale communities.
