Pretty generic session today. But a friend is working on a meditation/mindfulness YouTube series and I'm totes excited for her!

Today was about consistency and the importance of making practice realistic.

A YouTube rabbit hole led me to this video about the 5 hindrances to Self-Mastery. His voice is very nice. youtube.com/watch?v=4-079YIasc

Today was a little weird so I just did my meditation after a late nap. The session was about dealing with emotions that arise while meditating. That hasn't been a problem during meditation, but I have had a couple of emotional visualization sessions.

@Creaturista

Today was about restlessness, which is thankfully something I don't experience once I sit down to meditate. But I do get it quite a bit outside of that and can hopefully do a better job of noticing it.

Everything got thrown off kilter today with a bad work day for the fiance.

I did get a meditation session in a little later than normal (another on physical pain) and did yoga on Zoom sponsored by my work.

Zenni has new cat-eye frames and my eyeballs are too close together for them.

*flops on bed and wails about unfairness of the world*

(My puilary distance is actually too small for a lot of Zenni's frames and it's disappointing. I've heard you can be off by a few millimeters without too much effect, but I'm sort of nervous to try fudging that.)

That's so wholesome... my barbarian had less intelligence than a blink dog, spent points to learn swearing in every language spoken by the party (couldn't understand it, could just say it), and financed the party's adventures in underground fight rings.

Today was about doubt and reassuring the listener that everyone has random thoughts during meditation. It said nothing about random texts, which I did receive during my session. 😾

@srol Have you checked the random encounter table to see if there's even a couch in the room?

Today was about falling off track and that it was OK to miss some days and just come back to it without beating yourself up about it.

The last two days of work have been non-stop meetings and I had to succumb to a nap today to keep going.

Game recommendation wanted

Does anyone have any idle clicker or similar games they enjoy?

I'm looking for something to leave up and running while I do other things but has enough things to click when I want to keep me occupied. Something with mini-games or building stuff?

Bonus for fantasy or animal themes.

I'm looking for Windows-based and preferably through Steam because I can't remember to play games on other platforms.

I've played Clicker Heroes, PickCrafter, Midas Gold, & Paperclips.

And I may have splurged on a SlipShine account and been bouncing around a few of those images when I wasn't being distracted by the cat.

Remembered to toot about game recs and almost forgot to do this one!

Today was about "Monkey Brain" and trying to rein in a mind bouncing around. I, uh, don't remember much about it. My mind may have been bouncing around a bit... the fat cat decided my meditation time was the PERFECT opportunity to lay one of the smelliest shits a mortal being can muster and then scratch around it for 5 minutes.

@noelle I know there are plants out there deserving of a lot of respect for varying levels of toxicity.

I am terrified of this plant.

@noelle Per Wikipedia: Dendrocnide moroides, also known as the stinging brush, mulberry-leaved stinger, gympie gympie, gympie, gympie stinger, stinger, the suicide plant, or moonlighter, is a plant common to rainforest areas in the north east of Australia.

Of course it's in Australia.

What does "gympie" mean? Best I can find in a 2-minute search is that it's from a "native Australian language," which I had already guessed. I'm hoping it means something really colorful and dreadful.

Today's session was about sleepiness during meditation. So far, this hasn't been an issue for me even though I am laying down to meditate. I'm careful to not meditate before bed and if there's something that might be similar to a meditation that I want to do to fall asleep, I preface it with a specific visualization to let my brain know that falling asleep is OK.

The headband lost contact during the session so I didn't get any data. Boooo.
