a local friend is creating Nazi/fascist-detection tools for social media, and has a working prototype that detects 14-22% Nazis out of 10k+ test accounts, with no false positives
she just launched a Patreon in case you'd like to support her work on it:
@BasementGameScience This seems fun, shoot me 3 random things, let me give it a try!
I see people being like "I dont want to flood the timeline with..."
LISTEN. I am here to see all your art, even your silly sketches. I am here for reading your work rants, your video game excitement, what you had for dinner, all y'all personalities. It's not bothering me, I LIVE FOR THIS
A great review I just saw of Mastodon:
"It’s like if twitter and tumblr had a baby and the baby was a significantly better, more likeable person than either of its parents."

Old Ganondorf painting I did, basically asking what if Ganon was the good guy and King of Hyrule. Still really like it even a few years on.
@honestlyjon I don't know how much it actually doing any influencing what I/people do, but I really like the idea, at least, of "you only get social-media-skinner-box-rewarded for things you write, not for Finding/Spreading Good-or-Spreadable Things.
we need to produce a pamphlet called "so you went and found yourself on a social network where people introduce themselves, go out of their way to at least consider each other's feelings, and generally seem to act happy to see you - now what?" that we can print and fold and distribute at the door.
@And_Zoidberg The other side of the coin is that SF authors have to do all their worldbuilding in the same amount of space that contemporary authors can use for characterization and actual plot. Which is more noticeable in short stories where you haven't got as much word count to play with.
That's why a lot of people fall back on recognizable tropes.
A few veeeery self indulgent paintings of my OCs I did a while ago pretending I have some grand animated movie with them. #mastoart #creativetoots
playtesting is wild
