When gen Xers (for it is always they) finish a post with an ellipsis, I don’t respond. Mostly because it feels like I should wait for the second half of what they were saying and it feels like they rudely wandered off mid way through making a point.
@BethanyBlack I wonder if it’s the text equivalent of rising intonation on the last word as if they are asking a question
@seb321 it seems to be the text equivalent of fading out because they’re not confident in what they’re saying which always comes across passive aggressive
