Long shot, but one of my fiends / ex-colleague is in limbo regarding jobs, she is awesome at @rstats and anything related to #OpenScience, #FAIRData, image analysis and processing, and #bioinformatics. If you hear about anything in and around #Meanjin / #Brisbane, or remote, please let me know.

@amolith for people that don't understand: CUPS stands for Common UNIX Printing System. Also, systemd is a bloat that I hope QubesOS doesn't have
@DavitMasia @thenextweb at least it's just on Reddit, not Raddle.me or something else
@masklayer no, I mean, what manufacturer: OnePlus, Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi, something like that
I kind of caused a crapstorm in this thread, so congratulations to me, I guess...?

@blacklight447 @bazurk @Tutanota a better thing to do is to probably degoogle Chrome, but I'm not sure how I can do that (i.e. what settings I need to change, and to what exactly)
@Utgardloki @kujaw @Tutanota not really, it felt weird to me
@masklayer what phone do you have?
@PRosso actually, this helped me escape from freetardism. Without it, I would probably be too obsessed with libre software. And I don't think that the person who wrote this is a freetard themselves...
@kujaw @Tutanota well, the best independent browser I know is Pale Moon, but it requires quite a lot of configuration (https://spyware.neocities.org/guides/palemoon.html, note: don't disable updates, make Pale Moon auto-update and warn if this will disable add-ons instead) — other (semi-)independent browsers only have basic ad-blockers and no extensions. Even Pale Moon isn't perfect (https://digdeeper.neocities.org/ghost/browsers.html#palemoon).
@PRosso actually, no, it's from someone else. I think it is a good source to cite when saying that Mozilla is bad.
@Tutanota I don't like Firefox because of what Mozilla has done to them (https://digdeeper.neocities.org/ghost/mozilla.html), so I'm using Iridium Browser (it only requires disabling Google SafeBrowsing before connecting to the network for zero spyware: https://spyware.neocities.org/guides/iridium.html), DuckDuckGo is probably fine, but I use Random Searx (https://searx.neocities.org), and Pleroma (https://pleroma.social) can be a good replacement for Mastodon, it depends
@stux lmao, I have a Google Pixel with GrapheneOS, and the AOSP camera doesn't even have flashlight options. I wonder if the third-party camera apps work again... they stopped back when I had Android 10
PeerTube needs about 13k more to reach that €60,000 / Live streaming feature!
A free as in freedom decentralized video sharing and soon possibly even streaming platform.
The fine developers of Framasoft have a roadmap for version 3.0 of PeerTube.
It includes all the things one needs to ditch Youtube!
Read about it via link & please support if able. We are almost there.
