there should be a setting to ignore followbot notifications

while I'm ranting about 'puters: every time I accidentally scroll up in tmux I remember how much of a hack it is

also, you know what? Fuck `chmod`, every part of it is confusing. Octal notation is basically just vernacular "heh it's 3 sets of 3 bits" bullshit. I almost like the symbolic notation, but "u" usually refers to "owner" and "o" to "everyone else", which is confusing as fuck. and re: my last toot, the sticky bit is all weird in there. Not even `ls` is safe from the sticky bit

nearly every usage of sudo is an acceptance that the linux permission system is too hard to understand

it doesn't matter how many times I see "ack" used for "acknowledged", it still reads as dismay

I'd sort of like the fourth column of the web ui to be the third column and notifications to live underneath the toot box. It would jibe very well with my vertical monitor.

fucking python can't even be bothered to tell me I forgot to return values

Archaic: manual memory management

Modern: garbage collection

New hotness: fuck it, leak memory like it's the end of the world, most users won't stay on the page very long

so apparently the only way to change ansi colors on bash on windows is with the registry and that's pretty unacceptable

Actually, mastodon is the name of the software. You're thinking of "Mastodon's monster"
