I have heard one of the dark iron dwarve jokes and it is the darkest, funniest, meanest shit. Show more
"A night elf was making fun of my home being a volcano. Well, you know what? I don't have to worry about a volcano burning to the ground."

There are going to be seventeen people in this house in twenty minutes and I don't know if I can handle it.
Someone else's suicide Show more
I just found out that someone I used to talk to years ago on Birdsite died via suicide a few days ago. I'm not handling it well.

A good movie; probably not an all-timer. And I think I've had my fill of movies where children die horribly; this is something like the fourth in two years.
I'm really tired of having to do this, and I'm sure everyone else is even more tired of me doing it, but if Elon Musk can crowdfund a damn couch then I can ask for some help buying groceries... :/
My car insurance payment is due tomorrow and I'm $10 short. Can anyone spare some money to help me pay my bills and get through the week? If not, please Boost?
OCEAN'S 8 Show more
My chief annoyance is when Yen shows up. I like Yen - a lot - but him being reduced to a sequence of acrobatics jobs out both him (by reducing him to a plot point) and the rest of the cast, who need a ringer to pull off the heist.
But, it does have the line "we're doing this for that eight year old girl who dreams of being a criminal" and that is PRETTY GOOD, and the actresses are all having a ball and are fun. I would not mind an OCEAN'S NINE, but perhaps workshop the plot a bit more.
It hit me out of nowhere today that Gorillaz, a literally manufactured band intended to satirize the falseness of pop idols, were most likely named after the Monkees.
Mastodon, I wish to host a webcomic collaboration on my own website. What publishing software should I use? Is there a version of Wordpress that'll do the trick?
So in going through my Dropbox I have stumbled upon: the first comics collaboration I ever made that I'm proud of enough to share. (I made shitty comics before that, left to an inferior life.)
Might go up on the ol' web-site soon!
Anyway. :/ I'm struggling financially because I've been screwed out of hours at work and bills have left me overdrawn at the bank. I don't have any money for groceries, gas, or any kind of amenities. Please help me out if you can, or Boost if you can't.
I saw DEADPOOL 2 Show more
I don't want to be one of those tedious accounts that wag their finger at people all day - it'd be hypocritical of me considering how many Ennis comics are in my shelf. But I will say this:
You know how we joked that they should replace T.J. Miller with an awkwardly inserted Chris Plummer and wondered why they didn't go for such a slam dunk of a joke? Well, Deadpool gropes Colossus in this movie, so I got a sinking feeling why.
Hey Mastodon! If you're in Toronto this weekend, you should come by the Toronto Reference Library for the Toronto Comics arts Festival, it's a great indie comics show with FREE entry. We'll be there with a limited run of Strange Romance volume 2, Nightbeach, and more!
So I went to download GIMP 2.10 and saw the BitTorrent link, and went, "huh." Then, for novelty's sake, I went and installed a BT client.
The official BT client - laden with ads - said that the GIMP installer from GIMP's own website "has a virus in it" and that upgrading to the paid BT client would protect me. Matches MD5 checksum; no virus detected by two scanners.
I feel a little put off by BT trying this scaremonger BS. Anyone have recs for a Win10 BT client that isn't skeevy?
Not to give anything away for #Mermay but there might be multiple mermaid and mer-adjacent stories in Strange Romance volume 2, which is Kickstarting its print edition RIGHT NOW:
INDIAN HORSE (light spoilers) Show more
I have a lot of thoughts, but they're mostly settler thoughts which no one really needs. But I will say that I appreciated that it's an anti-sports movie in a lot of ways.
You know that scene in a sports movie where The Love Of The Game helps the player win, and they win so hard they solve racism? That does not happen here. That kind of story buys into meritocracy, and this story does not - and Saul's story still matters even though he didn't change hockey.
