Can we all just agree that lying is bad? And by that I mean, can we stop rewarding folks for lying? I shouldn't have to spend my morning writing an email explaining why it's not okay to publish a new "version" of a paper that was originally retracted because the authors lied about their work. Honest, even dumb, mistakes are to be expected. But if you're caught in a lie you shouldn't be able to just ignore that fact and pretend like it never happened. 😡
