used my usual blend - a couple tablespoons of rosemary and peppercorns each, and a few cloves of garlic

reminder that making bread is exceedingly occult, you're ritually creating a tiny microcosm and then destroying it in fire to create the very first meaningful food ever made, the thing that made us settle down and start doing civilization

@CoronaCoreanici Agree that bread is occult, but beer was first , similar process though

@Laurelai Beer isn't a food. Well... admittedly ancient beer was very porridge-y.

@CoronaCoreanici Ancient beer was definitely a food and very porridge-y as you put it. The distinction between bread and beer was thin at best i suppose.

@CoronaCoreanici
One of the first things I baked was sourdough 🍞 with my mom lol
Was a big undertaking and the house smelled amazing all week !! I still love bread lol

@CoronaCoreanici @Shutsumon Ping Pong is what made us settle down and start doing civilization, I think you'll find.

@CoronaCoreanici money is on beer being the reason we settled down, but bread is the most common magic, yes.

@daHob Had this brief exchange in another toot thread - I didn't think about beer being food, even though it was more of a porridge at the time.

@CoronaCoreanici short beer (low alcohol rapid-fermentation beer) is basically liquid bread. Also, it gets you buzzed, which is a great incentive to change your lifestyle!

@CoronaCoreanici Ah, apologies. I only got your toot as boost in my timeline and didn't read the other toots on that. :)

this has exploded and I've had to address this three times, so:

if you're going to nitpick that the ~REAL~ thing that made us settle down was beer, maybe don't, because the point at which we started making bread and beer, there wasn't a distinction between a very thick porridge-like small beer and a very runny bread dough

thanks

@CoronaCoreanici first it was sexuality, then it was gender, and now you're telling me that there is no beer/bread binary

what the fuck

this is wonderful thanks
