To those working on a masterpiece, or just trying to make it through Monday, I sincerely recommend Mr Grover Washington Jr...

Hi Mastodon; just joined, excited to be here!

I'm a multidisciplinary designer, architecturally trained, & for the past 5 years have been doing narrative design consulting, primarily for videogames. I do this through Silverstring Media, which I helped co-found, & which also makes like glitchhikers.com/

Expect media analysis, & also general excitement about 🎨 ⛩️ ✍️ 🕹️ 🎼 🍸 🚲 ⛵ 🎴

🏳️‍🌈 I'm also a poly trans lesbian & thankful to live my truth & life every damn day 🏳️‍🌈

There's quite a lot of Stockholm Syndrome surrounding Twitter. I certainly feel it. I would be half the person I am now, and half as informed as I am now if I wasn't using Twitter.

I wouldn't have known that St. Louis has been protesting daily for a month about its most recent police shooting.

I would have know that Nazis showed up in my fucking town to harass an anarchists book sale.

But to conflate the growth I've had on through Twitter to somehow be caused by Twitter is silly.

Clearly there's a new wave of people moving to Mastodon. Lots of pundits wrote it off as irrelevant when the first wave of people switched and found it lacking.

But unlike centralized, for-profit startups, Masto doesn't require constant growth and capital to stay alive. It doesn't require one big wave, because it can survive and grow through multiple small ones.

TFW you try to make the same cup of tea three times 🍵
