I went with 15.16 fixed point math on my racing engine due to the fact that on the 68000, bit shifts right by 16 get optimized into a SWAP instruction, which is nice and fast, but it's come back to bite me now that I need to multiply two 32bit numbers. The C compiler takes care of this by generating code to do it, but I'm getting Strange Problems somewhere I'm having a hard time tracking down. #sega #megadrive #homebrew
