Hi. Criminal defense lawyer here. A grand jury indictment does not mean an immediate arrest. It could mean no arrest at all. Police and prosecutors hold off on arrests all the time. Sometimes for strategic reasons. Some defendants are allowed to self-surrender after indictment.
