Here's another good reason to keep things on your own domain.
It makes it *much* easier to see where you've been quoted & shared.
For example, reddit lets you see which subreddits have posted your content.
reddit.com/domain/shkspr.mobi/

If you close the results tab without clicking anything, a popup shows up saying "Poor results? Google would've found it, you know".

@Edent you're telling me, I have read threads where someone else has quoted posts on my site to answer questions for people. Makes me think twice about deleting my content after a while
