Very glad that the new Bond movie is finally out, if only on behalf of whoever runs the 007 social media accounts and who has been filling for time heroically.

Mangaged to evade a pursuing player ship long enough for it to give up and abandon the chase. That's the first time we've ever done that! Very satisfying.

I've just been hooked on Married At First Sight UK and sad that it's coming to an end, but now they're advertising new Married At First Sight Australia starting next week. Yay! No chance of doing anything useful any evening soon :D

One thing I learned during my weekend of housework is that Mr. Muscle is an absolute hero.

So excited that Tool will be on tour again. I do hope I can get a ticket to one of the events! They're incredible live.

My favorite band is on tour in 2022 and I an freaking out haha. Don't know what to do first here. Tell people or book book book.

Why is the bit you missed always on the other side of the glass!? Stupid window.

It does tug at my heart strings a little bit to see Brewster return to Animal Crossing. Such a wholesome little game series. Also, it feels great being a Switch owner lately with all the exciting stuff on the horizon. This has been an expensive week for my future wallet.

Being really disciplined with myself and finishing work at 5 on the dot feels really good. Having a hard deadline means I do have to focus more to get as much done as possible in the time, which feels rewarding. Also, stopping work when there's still more to be done makes me feel eager to get back to it the next day. whereas previously, just working through the evening until I was sick of it killed all my enthusiasm for the following morning. Plus, evenings feel so long now!

Android app support stopped working on my phone and I fixed it via a factory reset and running through multiple OS updates again which was a pain, but now the phone seems so cool and minimal and uncluttered. I'm going to just download apps as I need them rather than preemptively downloading everything at once and keep this 'Lite' feel going for as long as I can.

PeerTube is a video sharing platform for the Fediverse, a free open decentralised alternative to YouTube.

You can find out more at:

PeerTube federates with the rest of the Fediverse, so you can follow PeerTube accounts from Mastodon etc and share videos, comment on them, like them etc too.

Here's an example account you can follow: @craftykat

PeerTube works in a really clever way: if lots of people watch the same video at the same time, they transmit the video to each other by peer-to-peer. This means even if a video goes viral, the PeerTube site that hosts it doesn't crash. Even small sites can provide videos for a large audience.

This is explained in an official animation:

If you're non-techy, you can make your own PT instance on a managed hosting service like

If you're techy, you can install your own PT instance with these instructions:

My favourite thing about sleeping in a double bed on my own is that I can just leave my phones and gadgets all over it like it's some kind of mobile command centre / grown up's playroom and they hopefully won't get lost or smashed (I don't move around much in my sleep). It's really great.

Ugh, the ads on YouTube are completely obnoxious. I appreciate that it's A Good Thing that, in theory, people can make great stuff and get rewarded for it, but omg the experience is becoming quite bad. I don't want to let YouTube get away with selling a solution when they themselves engineered the problem in the first place, so I'll just have to persevere. I don't like the way advertising has become a weird and unwelcome presence in many areas of our lives now.

Ooh, very excited that it's Microsoft hardware showcase day. Can't say I was expecting an ocean plastic mouse, but at least its inclusion means there's definitely one bit of hardware I'll be getting from this thing!
