The mastodon stages:
1: getting used to the interface
2: discovering that most people are just people, engaged in everyday adventures, big & small
3: the allure of the notification sound
4: a gradual getting used to the fact that not everything is about US politics, and that it's okay to filter it out on a macro level
5: a quiet moment when you think "there can still be poetry in this world"
6: some sort of reconciliation with the quantum magic that is the federated timeline
7: pineapples
@sargoth Yeah I'm literally coming here to get away from the constant political talk. It's important but it's taking up WAY TO MUCH brain space.
Here I just wanna joke around, make friends, and talk about silly shit.
@ErykDonovan it's important to rest & recharge every once in a while
the brain was not built to be in 100% serious talk mode all the time
@sargoth @ErykDonovan I've been feeling really low lately because I feel like people I knew are scattering across the platforms, I am going to migrate away from twitter completely into mastodon and discord. Just being here is making my head feel lighter.
@croxus yeah most of mine have been through connections with Destiny friends. Still they're pretty varied in make up so I still don't feel totally at ease haha. I think a smaller friend discord server sounds like a good idea though, I may look into that.
@ErykDonovan It is what my twitter used to be but without all the random people, which, I guess is why I like but hesitated to use Mastodon it had the random people but not my closest. So now I just have two platforms for it, which is fine if it means less DiscourseTM
