Nobody gets nostalgic for a first-gen Core i7 compy.
@djsundog Honestly any IBM PC compatible nostalgia confuses me. I mean, there are certain case designs and whatnot that I have an affinity toward, but it's not like I can't emulate literally anything from an 8088 onward with reasonable fidelity.

but yeah, 'reasonable fidelity' is a good criterium I guess. ;)
I can imagine though that the loud 'clack' of a power switch, the loud whirring of the spinning rust and fans, and inserting of big floppies, is a big part of the nostalgia.
