I have no idea if federation is set up right. Need to wait for messages to move around, I think, it can be a bit slow sometimes.

So, Mastodon works on Heroku. I'm deploying one now to see how easy it is to get going. It looks trivial, TBH.

OK UK tech folks, who would help crowdfund, and then move to, a mastodon instance for our community? No idea what cost would be, just gauging interest. #decentralise

Because as has been pointed out, everyone on the same server misses to point of decentralisation, somewhat :)

I've started out on mastodon.social, but will probably want to shift to another instance at some point. Anyone know if/how that works?
