there are so many annoying things i need to do with files that can't all be done simultaneously, so i have to wait until one thing is finished, then do the additional things, then move on to whatever else i was doing
it'd be nice to be able to just...set up a bunch of instructions to happen in a sequence, then be able to go do something else, and come back to that thing being completely finished
