Why did the delivery service leave my package with a neighbour when I've been here all day they didn't even ring

· Web · 1 · 13

@Gargron They're just trying to make the neighborhood more social

@Gargron
They do this all the time to me. So it's nothing personal ;)

@Gargron they thought you should get to know your neighbors better

That person isn't home, nobody is answering the door. Fuck you DHL. Lazy bastards, it's one floor away!!

@Gargron glad to know dhl is an bad in Germany as they are in the us

@Gargron dhl damaged the packaging for my google home, sooo

@koyu I'm pretty sure Amazon only recently switched to DHL and it's been awful. This is actually the second time they do this to me. Both times I was home...

@Gargron @koyu FWIW, as far as I'm aware, if you tell Amazon that DHL has problems delivering properly in your area, they'll look at switching providers (because they play every shipping company off of each other, on top of doing deliveries themselves as well).

@gargron Wasn't DHL the cause of KFC's UK chicken shortage?
.
It sounds like they are either (1) expanding too quicky and overstressing their logistics or (2) underbidding to win contracts and trying to cut costs too aggressively.

@Gargron if you have the energy, is there a way to send a complaint their way?

@Gargron
DHL will launch the best e-mail service delivery ever !

@BoF @Gargron

Yeah, in some kind of parallel universe. Where Elon Musk invented the AMC Gremlin and Angela Merkel discovered the cold fusion technology.

😆

@Gargron DHL misdelivered a thing to me halfway across the country a few months back and the sender had to waste weeks trying to sort it out.

Joke's on DHL, they ended up having to swallow the import duty because they couldn't address the invoice for that correctly either.

@Gargron one time DHL left me a message to say my parcel was safely left in my porch

My house doesn't even have a porch

@Gargron
That awkward moment when dhl is too expensive for you so you go 500m to your local post office and take a parcel

@gargron
That is typical for DHL. Those poor sods get lousy pay and have to get all the packages in their full car delivered..

@gargron that's closer than OnTrac ever gets to us. They usually drop our packages in the mud by the side of the road 400 meters away (despite the sign), then log it as "Delivered To Receiving Area".

@Gargron
They are still mad atcha, because you let them down when it came to trending hashtags

@Gargron
Yeah, I guess you're right. Probably we can all laugh about it in about 2 months or so from now

@Gargron

Too much rush in combination with terrible traffic?

Almost a pity that they don't have to pay 1 € per incident. Some people within my family could already have bankrupted them.

😑

@Gargron Maybe it was because the package was 1,000 of those prank snake in a can things.

@Gargron when parcels per shift is your performance metric, shaving 30 seconds off a non-ground-floor delivery compared to a ground floor neighbour is a serious win when you deliver potentially hundreds of packages a day.
