Putting ice cubes in your drink? Game changer

@trwnh how do you drink anything with ice? on the hottest days the most pleasant thing to drink is a hot cup of mint tea

@trwnh I just let my tea cool down to room temperature in that case

I'm with @hellcp. warmer drinks help cooling in hot weather. It kinda is like reverse psychology. Warm drink heats your body. Then your body slowly cools itself to balance the body temperature. Unlike chilled drink, cooling isn't immediate but it lasts longer.

@Gargron Sometimes I go wild and *fill* the glass all the way to the top with ice.

@Gargron call it a life hack, maybe BoingBoing will jump on it.

@Gargron definitely, particularly outside in the sun... (doh!)

@Gargron only your own though. Don't get ice from restaurants, don't trust those machines to be clean

@Gargron if you don't want to dilute your drink with ice, use something like reusable ice sticks. amazon.com/myColdCup-Reusable-

@Gargron Putting the ice cubes in the glass first is better. That way, you cool the drink while you pour it. 🥃
