What this whole stupid #covfefe thing shows is that no matter how obvious his wrongdoing, his supporters will pretend like he's playing 4D chess. He really could shoot someone in broad daylight, and they'd come up with a reason for why he's a hero

@Gargron Humanity can always go a step lower than we expect. One Presidential candidate in Brazil had serious allegations against him (later proved to be true) and I've seen his supporters going "look, he does coke, he cheats on his wife, he's such a real guy!"

@Gargron Basic psychology. Weak people project what's going on in their own heads onto an external archetype or leader. Political theatre is about getting the slave to project responsibility onto the external. What's going on in a weak person's head is all programming. It doesn't matter whether someone is for or against the actor 'leader', what matters is that they focus their attention on them, that they buy into the theatre.

@Gargron FWIW, this is no different for any political party's supporters. Try to bring up the number of people Obama had killed without any sort of accountability or due process with the drone program and watch the Democrats scurry.
As Sec. of State, Hillary was involved in this, and a big reason I couldn't vote for her. Despite not voting for him, I was immediately accused of "helping Trump win", like overlooking crimes against humanity was expected of me here.
