AMA but probably not about Mastodon because I'm answering those way too much already
My favourite anime is One Punch Man. Dennou Coil is a more serious one that I like.
My favourite rotating coyote user is @jk
I do not have any pets, sadly. The closest is the guinea pigs that @Nigma has. They're called Alfred and Rufus and they're little assholes who eat and sleep all day
When I'm not geeking out on Mastodon, I am either playing guitar or playing video games. I could also be watching art streams.
My favourite book is HPMOR. I also own all the Discworld novels (I prefer the watchmen ones)
I have not met any doggos lately!
My favourite Dota hero to play is Legion Commander. In terms of character design it's Enchantress.
My favourite band is... I would've said Devin Townsend a few months ago but now it's probably Porcupine Tree?
Best OS I've ever used? They're all bad, I'm on Win 8 / Ubuntu 16.04 personally
@Gargron best OS I ever used in its historical context: BeOS R5. Loved. Amazing
I do not live in London
@Gargron Well then. I should probably stop asking questions now. lol
I don't have a favourite Dota item, they're all situational. But I build Maelstrom and Desolator on a lot of heroes lol. Even Crystal Maiden... Sometimes.
I avoid Win 10 because of the UI changes as well as privacy violations
@Gargron I hate the Win8 UI a lot more
@Gargron Linux is more suited for practical use, now! As a GUI, Mate and Xfce seem to be good.
@Gargron Win8 was a horrible OS, as was Server 2012. 8.1 and 2012 R2 fixed most of the issues.
Win10 keeps resetting my preferences on updates! Gah! Windows is still my main OS, though Linux keeps trying to seduce me.
I don't have a favourite guitarist. The musicians i like the most aren't great guitar players on technicality. They're just getting by for the music they are writing.
Nick Drake was pretty good at playing guitar in weird ways though.
My major was in compsci but my minor was in philosophy. And yet it is hard for me to answer what my favourite philosopher or philosophy is. A lot is meshed together in my own world view, and i have no motivation to write an essay so all-encompassing. Please more specific questions
@Gargron Was Wittgenstein's 180-degree spin post-Tractatus actually the very first troll
I might get an opportunity to live in London soon and i am considering it. UK political climate is awful, though it wouldn't affect my stay directly. London is also expensive and I'm not a fan of big crowds. I kinda like living in small town, even though in London i would have more access to friends.
@Gargron go for it. You can always move back or move elsewhere if you don't like it.
@Gargron we hire a lot of people from smaller towns for the DMV area. some thrive bit some do not. we have alternatives for those that do not. ask about a fallback plan bit maybe not in those words.
@Gargron Google assumes I favor the word bit and is accurate in most cases but not this one.
@Gargron London is super expensive, but there are places outside/commutable that feel like a small(er) town... If temporary I'd certainly go for it. If affordable, even better. Congratulations on the opportunity!
@Gargron Move to Bordeaux !
@Gargron permanently? Where do you live now?
@Gargron I'd wait till after the election to make any decisions like that. It's likely to be a very different UK on the other side, depending who wins.
@Gargron plenty of smaller towns just outside London, not far away at all.
@gargron The political climate definitely sucks here, but if you haven't lived here before then it might be worth checking out still,. There's some nice, small towns, although I couldn't specifically recommend one thats in close enough reach to London with a train station, if that's what you're looking for.
@Gargron thoughts on extrapolated volition and applied utilitarianism? also, what kind of philosophy - continental or analytic?
@Gargron I like David Gilmour. For me one of the best guitar players ever. His guitar was often spreading out (even screaming out) feelings. Example? Comfortably Numb solo.
@gargron Nick Drake was pretty technically accomplished, especially in regards to finger picking.
@Gargron Windows 8 was the best. (Idea.)
@MightyPork @Gargron I'm the guy (yeah, probably the only one in the universe) who started with Windows because of the Metro UI.
@Gargron Would you like to ?
@Gargron Any particular reason you're avoiding Win10?
@Gargron Linux Mint, Antergos und evtl. Mageia, wenn V. 6 herauskommen sollte.
@Gargron which one do you use more?
@Gargron Give elementary os a try.
@Gargron You know all the telemetry stuff for Windows 10 was backported in 8, right?
@Gargron Check out #FreeBSD and fall in love with its native support for #ZFS.
