Eugen @Gargron

Tell you hwhat, I think the focus of the next release after 2.0 is finally going to be groups, because I really feel we're missing that now

@Gargron yessssss

I vote for a default group with all users on the local instance so that we can do local-only toots finally

@wxcafe @Gargron also one that only contains valid accounts of Lance Ulanoff

@zyabin101 but how will William Shatner find him otherwise?

@noiob He isn't gonna. That's a meme that should have been forgotten long ago. Shatner x Ulanoff is out of date already.

@noiob @wxcafe @Gargron

the name has to be

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Hey Shat!!! Lance Ulanoff is right here!!!<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

@Gargron
do you already have ideas to share with us ?

@Gargron also I suppose a filter function in timelines would be nice, too. And ban words.

@Thib but how specifically does it relate to groups?

@Gargron oh no sorry, I was suggesting it as a “focus” for the next version, it does not relate to groups

@Gargron @Thib
Thib created a simple way of getting a rss feed of the tagged posts social.sitedethib.com/tags/has (doesn't work anymore) but it sees only the tagged posts coming into his instance.
Would there be a way to federate that in order to be able to see all the posts of the Fediverse bearing the selected hashtag?

@Gargron that'll be great.
But, IMHO, I think there are some usability/UX things that can help attract more 'regular' (non-tech/FOSS/nerd) people here.

@falcon /web/blocks is a list of blocked users, accessible from /web/getting-started. You can also go to your profile by clicking on your name / avvie from below the search bar and get to the follow list that way, from the web app.

@kjhoerr
oh right, I can't understand how did I not see that.

@Gargron +1 for groups, then pools, maybe events. It would make Mastodon not only better Twitter replacement, but also great alternative for Facebook etc.

@Gargron I’d love to see group support! 😀 It’s just about the only feature I see GNU social has and wish Mastodon had.

@Gargron HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT OH MY GOD GARGAMEL WE LOVE YOU

@Gargron That would be great! The most important thing is that those groups federate perfectly to all subscribers. Also invitation only groups would be great.

@Gargron is it possible to follow hashtags? Permanently kind of saved search?

@ao37 open the hashtag -> click on icon in the header -> "pin column"

@Gargron ookey. didn't see that because I normally use #tusky. but honestly, pinning the hashtags leads not the what I really like to. it makes the GUI wide if pinning some. I'd really like to see those "pinned" hashtags in probably one new column.

@Gargron how do you foresee helps groups (parade? Herd? 😉) working?
