SV, now disrupting: burglary!
@Gargron i want sv to disrupt me, killing me instantly
@gargron Did nobody ever think about
LARGER MAILBOXES
phys-sec specialists: don't make electronics, like elevators, part of your security model
sv: what if the doorbell was part of your security model
@Gargron But this was something I felt would be a decent idea few years ago already. I would want to be able to issue a temporary key to my apartment for my friends with just a few clicks, without having to do tricks like key under the doormat (or talking to neighbors, bleh).
Or if you go on vacation and want your neighbors to water the plant or whatever.
@Gargron In the US a few years ago a company was selling locks that could be re-keyed using a little electronic dongle thing.
It took about 3 months before some hardware vulnerabilities came out that would let anyone rekey your house with almost no effort.
So this idea has an established history of 'success'.
@Gargron pfft, call me back when we have drone-based burglary. As a service.
@Gargron why would you want this????
@Concerned_Catgirl @Gargron I hope every rich person buys one and gets very confused at all the times they get robbed
@Gargron Have these people literally not heard of The Law of Unintended Consequences?
Seriously, people have lost their minds.
@Gargron What could possibly go wrong!
