Eugen @Gargron

I can't sleep because I'm stressed about the lists UI. I really want to release a new version of Mastodon this month so I have something to show to patrons...

@gargron I'm a patron and would prefer you release the next version when you're ready. I don't care if it comes out next month.

@Gargron they see you're working on it; you only owe them that IMHO. don't ship a broken product for the sake of shipping

@Gargron you don't have to make a release to have something to show. Show them the prs and talk about the work instead!

@Gargron I don't think any specific feature is needed for a new release. Even bug fixes making it to the next tag is forward progress.

@Gargamel eh, I know it's easier said than done, but relax.
You've been doing some great work on Mastodon, and you'll manage to do the list editing thing eventually. Take the time you need, don't rush it, and don't worry too much about it!

@LossCauses @Gargron The website works great on Android, just add it to the home screen and enable push notifications. toot.cafe/media/U9diZT7OQAUmNU

or just download one of many already existing apps for mastodon.

@Gargron please take care of yourself first! That is most important. As for the patrons, they should be happy if you just show them what you’re currently working on, and maybe try to crowdsource some opinions for help if you need to. Just breathe. And look at my cat, I gave him a kiss on your behalf! 🐈

@Gargron take a break, get some rest, do some self care. Don't burn yourself out all on one release, it'll get done at a reasonable time πŸ‘

@Gargron I don't think patrons are going to leave because you took a week or two extra to get things right before delivering. It's more important that you're rested and have the chance to check it's right.

@Gargron As a patron, ship it when it's ready.

(And, really, most of the reason I'm a patron is because of the whole defraying costs of running this instance thing.)

@gargron Just want to echo everyone else here - I'm not gonna remove my pledge if you don't have a new version every month on the dot. Deadlines suck. Take care of yourself. :blobpats:

@gargron stability is more important than Deliverables if you're being transparent about development and showing your work even if it's not released yet then people will be fine with it. Show some screencaps or write about the progress so far
