@Gargron who do i have to contact about lost 2fa (and 2fa recovery) codes btw...

@Gargron could you reset it for me? I was over at @slime can also provide extra verification if you need it

@Gargron OOOh! is it one-way or will I be able to revert it in case I decide to come back to this instance?

@Gargron Thanks for the tip, I just did so. I can't get my head around to what that actually DOES, though ...

@Gargron So nothing actually happens with my account on mastodon.social anymore? If anyone tries to contact me on .social they just get a message that I moved ?

@Gargron why does it not work when i've moved to a pleroma instance?

@Gargron just a note, or can you fully redirect/alias?

@Gargron I'm on my own instance now, but I use mastodon.social as a secondary place :)

I'm not dead yet!

@gargron It also helps to change your display name.

@RussSharek that's a new feature in 2.1 that our instance is already running

@Gargron
Gotcha. Wording sounded like a rescue option more than a feature. Thank you for clarifying.

Apparently this could be misread as something has happened to mastodon.social, which is not the case. I was merely highlighting a new feature that's useful to those who switch accounts

@Gargron
Do followers and other data go over to new instance or is it just redirect in case someone clicks on your profile?

@Gargron

1.) Does the server you've moved to need to be at the newest codebase as well?

2.) Is this possible to undo?

@Gargron That could be misinterpreted, but only if you're feeling extra pessimistic about the future of Mastodon

@Gargron the "Move to a different account" under the save button looks out of place. There has to be a better place for it.
