My main motivational driver is just people using my software. I live on that shit
@Gargron they're good softwares, Brent.
@Gargron just you're getting a million motivation units right now
@lucidiot well its more like 140k weekly users i think. total registrations are a vanity metric somewhat
@Gargron still 4,000× more than I get on my blog each week :P
@hypolite I don't know. Maybe never. That's a scary thought
@Gargron I get you, same here.
Though you've got better stats, I just get a hitcount which doesn't differentiate updates from installs.
@Gargron do you use any other signals outside seeing people toot to get a feel for this?
Is this having a negative impact on your well-being? I wonder this when you write about your sleep problems. If so, I hope you can figure out how to balance your work and your health.
@gargron
I just wish i was competent enough un programming and such to use your software more 😉
It's never too late to start learning. There are plenty of resources online for free and you can always ask questions on here anyway!
If you decide that you want a book later on "Learn to Program" by Chris Pine is pretty good.
@gargron
There are software that I use but hate
