Is it weird that my biggest aspiration in Skyrim is building a house
@Gargron at least for you it's only in skyrim
@ryanlittlefield I wouldn't mind building a house irl but I don't think it's realistic
@Gargron @ryanlittlefield Then build an unrealistic one!
😂
@ryanlittlefield @Gargron "No no, just the pole. Yes, it's finished. Yes - yes this IS the complete bathroom. It's post-masto minimalism."
@WelshPixie @ryanlittlefield i come from poverty~ started from a blank slate in this country a decade ago.
@Gargron @WelshPixie well if that's true, then i don't think building a house irl is even completely unrealistic for you. even if you had a bathroom pole.
@Gargron eat my ass
@Gargron Never feel bad for playing a game you want to play it (as long as you're not breaking the rules)! I have a character on Planetside 2 (a huge MMO future-war FPS) that I play explicitly as a pacifist.
@Gargron Is it wrong that I have not played Skyrim?
@Gargron even in Skyrim, but other tes games the first mod most people created was a player owned house of their design.
I'm guilty of this, in morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.
In Oblivion I went to extra mile and created a pocket dimension with a lone house on a forested island with a small jetty.
@Gargron nah, building houses (and castles... I always like that bit in Suikoden) in videogames is fun!
I'm waiting for more dragon quest builders, 'cos making nice houses for villagers is just... pleasant I guess?
@bentosmile @Gargron I found the Hearthfire stuff in Skyrim really unsatisfying :(
@theoutrider @Gargron DQ Builders tho... that time I had too much ice so I made a library out of it (or something) XD
@bentosmile @Gargron @theoutrider DQ Builders................................
@Tom @Gargron @bentosmile the "Q" is for "Good"
@theoutrider @gargron this is what the Creation Kit is for. I've built close to twenty *different* fully-custom houses for different types of characters. E.g., my current dude, an Argonian thief/assassin-y sort, lives in a dark, dank, muddy crevasse I made 😎
@Gargron
I didn't think its that weird. My biggest skyrim aspiration was a full library, including every book in the game.
@Gargron my biggest aspiration for a while was “get from the starting point to the clothes shop with the prettiest things”
@anthracite @Gargron mine is always "finish Thieves Guild quests so I can get Brynjolf as a follower, *then* do plot stuff." I once went directly to Riften before even going to see the Jarl in Whiterun for the first time because then I could do all the TG quests without having to worry about pesky dragons all over the place. :D
@Gargron Skyrim: In my fantasy life, I'm a single mom with a two-storey library, and I hire a bard to watch my children.
@Gargron if you are a millennial then it might be the only house you build
Makes sense to me. Owning a house is now a fantasy after all.
@Gargron Not at all.
@Gargron Heh, yeah. I remember when Skyrim led to a weekend of watching woodworking and small-homes videos on YT.
@Gargron Getting married and building a house is like, the whole plot of Skyrim I thought.
@Gargron so you want to play your skyrim like it's minecraft?
