CBC Lite | Racist Calgary mayoral candidate Kevin J. Johnston pleads guilty to hate crime

My co-worker took the day off yesterday to go mushroom picking. Pine mushrooms are 20$/lb right now. He took his little boat across the Skeena River to one of his favourite patches.
It's steep over there, so he wore his new corks.
Now, for some reason he keeps his bear spray in his collection bucket instead of on his hip in its holster. He upturned his pail and turned around. One of his feet stepped on the bear spray...
The corks pierced the can and a cloud of bear spray arose around him!

Today I was pruning though - on a 30 degree slope. And those were the flat parts! Lot of sudden drops. I was wearing corks and I Still slipped a few times.

In case anyone has forgotten that the USA destroyed the democracy in Afghanistan in the first place...

Afghanistan, The Great Game of Smashing Countries
More than a generation ago, Afghanistan won its freedom, which the United States, Britain and their “allies” destroyed.

Buried interconnects will help save Moore's Law

"Had these chips kept on the trajectory they were following in the early 2000s, they would soon have packed about 6,400 watts onto each square centimeter—the power flux on the surface of the sun." !!

I wonder how this compares to the 70's? 80's? When I was 20 I expected to buy a house - and I did in my mid-20's. My kids? Not going to happen/very unlikely.
