so.. instance's #trendinghashtags can't be seen anymore, even in search column? 😕 i liked the idea of seeing what people's interested in around here..
a trending line when i search a hashtag i already know (and a few others with the same initial letters 😐) doesn't seem very useful, does it?

What about alternatives to see what's going on? For example, show #trendinghashtags in the main list only for those toots that also have the hashtag #publicdiscussion or something like that? What do you think?
@GerryT those who wants to use this to hurt would always post publicly.
but this trending feature would also help to find these issues easily and block them.
i think #trendinghashtags was good as it was a few days ago, it should be restored.
@GerryT a large part of the community found this feature is against anti-abuse.. i don't know, people talked here https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/7702#issuecomment-394100570 about it.
i don't think @Gargron wants to discuss more about it right now 😉
