Are any of you old enough to remember when we had websites in the 90's and we had those groups that would all link to each other. Like, if you had a Sailor Moon site, you'd put the linky thing on your site and it would cross-promote other Sailor Moon sites that were part of that group?
WTF was that called? WHAT IS THE WORD I CAN'T THINK OF?!
@smadin @GinnyMcQueen THERE IT IS (im an idiot)
@GinnyMcQueen web rings?
@GinnyMcQueen Rings? Web Rings?
Web Rings
Were so good ๐
I was running a Dragon Ball Z translation site back then before VIZ media bought it up...
@GinnyMcQueen
a link-chain?
I remember writing Yu-Gi-Oh fanfics so i would do this shit all the time.
THANK YOU. WEBRINGS.
THAT WAS BUGGING ME.
Okay, so like webrings but for Patreon. We need to do that.
@GinnyMcQueen That's a great idea!
@GinnyMcQueen Down with this plan, but can we also include non-patreon-based artists/projects? (Yeah, I'm selfish and want in, but don't have a Patreon because it'd take too much extra time/energy investment on top of everything else I'm already doing.)
@Winneganfake I have no idea of logistics as it's just a random thought I had. ๐ But I don't see why not.
I send out a newsletter every week, and would happily include links to other creators in it to spotlight as well.
@GinnyMcQueen Linking between accounts or between instances?
@GinnyMcQueen Sorry, mixed up Patreon and Mastodon. NEARLY the same vocals XD
@Anke Too many -ons!
@Canageek @GinnyMcQueen Web rings sound like faerie rings. They share the ability to get you stuck in one place, enthralled by illusions of content.
@GinnyMcQueen Oh, sorry to see you got that already.
@GinnyMcQueen oh damn, those times. is it really thaaat long ago?! -.-
@GinnyMcQueen Webrings. They last were "a thing" on tilde.club ๐
@GinnyMcQueen They used to call them Rings, didn't they?
@GinnyMcQueen a "something" ring. Maybe just a web ring
@GinnyMcQueen webrings!
