2/ OMG I'M CRYING AND SHAKING SO HARD, I ALMOST COULDN'T TYPE THIS

@GottaLaff

President Convicted Felon!

How fucked up is it that convicted felons can't vote but they can run for president? Heh, he can't even vote for himself.

Aren't you thankful you moved to Canada?

@MsMissy @GottaLaff

but they can run for president

Wow. So, he can still run for president? 😳 What's there to celebrate then?

Convicted criminals can run for office in India too. Democracy and stuff. Was thinking that maybe it's better in the US. Looks like that isn't the case.

@Deus @MsMissy What’s there to celebrate then?????

You can’t be serious.

@GottaLaff @Deus @MsMissy I'm honestly wondering the same thing. He'll probably spin it in such a way that people will still vote for him, so how did this help?

Laffy

@irisnieborg @Deus @MsMissy Do any of you remember this? “The courts are not going to save us”? This was NEVER going to be the solution. WE are. VOTE.

As for how did this help? Well, for one, the rule of law worked. It went better than it could have, it was flawless. That is MAJOR.

How did this help? Trump was convicted. He’s a felon now. On the books.

How did this help? Some voters may be swayed.

🤦🏻‍♀️

@GottaLaff @irisnieborg @Deus @MsMissy the courts are a sh!t show and are responsible for creating Trump and other monsters… the courts brought us here….they must be cleansed

@GottaLaff @irisnieborg @Deus @MsMissy people are cynical, hardly surprising here that they would be cynical about any impacts on the election.

The conviction by a jury of his peers only means that convicted felon Donald Trump needs to be clearly and loudly spoken about in those terms often and repeatedly:

Convicted Felon Donald Trump, who was convicted of 34 felonies by a jury of his peers. Not a single judge, not a cabal, but a jury of people who Donald Trump's own lawyers helped to seat.

@GottaLaff @irisnieborg @Deus @MsMissy I thought it was interesting the polls they did before the conviction asking, would you be more or less likely to vote for TFG if he was convicted? About 15% said less likely and 15% said more. The thing is I don’t believe for a second that anyone who said more likely wasn’t going to vote for him come hell or high water. But I do tend to believe the less likely folks.

@GottaLaff @irisnieborg @Deus @MsMissy Those who are not swayed are the danger to our future.

@GottaLaff @irisnieborg @Deus @MsMissy
If it’s any consolation, felon Trump can’t technically enter Canada

@Ferencz Yes, I boosted that from someone else a few minutes ago. Great point. @irisnieborg @Deus @MsMissy

@GottaLaff @irisnieborg @Deus @MsMissy: The courts cannot SOLVE a political problem. That's something that @Teri_Kanefield has been saying for years now, and it's still true. The political problem in the U.S. will not be solved by the courts. It will be solved by the voters as you noted.

Will the conviction have any effect on the vote? For those living in the real world, it should. The crucial thing is for all of us to do our part (you do your part in spades to be sure, and we all have to do ours). Democracy will survive if enough of the electorate wants it to, so it's incumbent on all of us to make sure that the facts are out there. We need to talk to people. We need to write. We need to make sure that everyone we know votes! No eligible voter can sit this one out.

The front runner GOP candidate is a convicted felon who still faces three more (at least) criminal trials. That says a lot about the GOP and their cult. That should say a lot to the American people as a whole.
