To repeat:

IS EVERYONE ELSE AS HAPPY AS I AM ABOUT THIS TIMING? Especially after ’s election denial at the .

2/ FFS, people, can't you be appreciative of ANY good news? Some of you insist on raining on this: "Yeah, but no trial."

We know that already. That's not news.

This is.

And it's well-timed, monopolizing the headlines, reinvigorating the "Trump's a traitorous criminal" evidence, disrupting his campaign, causing him to blather all over Truth Social like the caged animal he is, and it may ... MAY... swing a voter or two.

Okay? Kthxbye.

Laffy

3/ I swear, a few of you really need to apply for jobs at the NYT.

I’m still getting replies that mirror, “Why this is bad for….”

@GottaLaff Everyone is so traumatized. I am hopeful that we can celebrate soon.

@mmynatt Then those who are traumatized (all of us) should appreciate good news.

@GottaLaff @mmynatt The hits keep coming so consistently and so often these headlines are followed more or less immediately by some form of "...and he's going to get away with it" that many of us have been taught to always wait for the other shoe to drop.

We've been consistently punished for getting our hopes up, which is largely intentional on the part of GOP psyops. People aren't wrong, they're damaged.

@GottaLaff
I’d really hate to see what your notifications look like…

Maybe we need a NYT article titled, “Why this is bad for Laffy.”

@GottaLaff Suggested rejoinder: I really don't care do U?

@GottaLaff

> you really need to apply for jobs at the NYT

That's the meanest thing I've ever heard you say 😄

@GottaLaff There's some kinda inverse Dunning-Kruger effect going on where chronically online folks assume that everyone else is so well-informed on these things, that they've chosen a side, and won't be swayed any further by yet more revelations.

@GottaLaff I think it’s just disappointment overload. Lots of people have now been conditioned to accept even good news with a certain amount of expectation of disappointment. That will change once the orange-tinted turd is finally in jail.

@calsnoboarder I'm disappointed and scared too, but when good news comes my way, I welcome it, I do not mock it or poopoo it in any way.

@WonkaBee @GottaLaff

I had not heard this. Brilliant news!

So much good news hitting as mail-in voting begins. 😁

@Edelruth @WonkaBee Yes, I'd posted it the day it was published. Welcome news.

@GottaLaff

first half: Oh, positivity at seeing insightful questions that might improve the NYT into something better than "all the news that's fit to compost"!

second half: Oh, right.
