Hi y'all I'm back
I have no internet so I just cleaned all weekend and cooked a roast and let me tell you this is the most relaxing weekend I've had in months
Busy oh so busy what is life anymore
I went to GX yesterday and it was lovely and chill and made me think about how to make a games culture around many small events rather than few large ones. Would require game devs to have work-life balance to participate tho.
If I wanna read a current marvel series, what's good?
On the bright side my work is finally implementing a project database and auto-document system and I got to have a proper technical talk about how it would work with the customising dev and man... It's good to talk to people who speak your language. Sometimes being the only one with a particular expertise in your office is alienating.
dear heck my job has been busy lately and it's really made me a much more short-tempered person in general. I don't like this :(
I just found out the dude who invented nutella was the 20th richest person in the world in 2014 & it almost makes me believe in meritocracy
Also I can use my pc from bed now which seems dangerous
A nice weekend: fixed the broken monitor so now hopefully I can use the big pc for more stuff; saw aunt/uncle/cousin/her husband/her 3y/o for easter and it was super cute and everyone is equally mad about terrible housing policy; worked on a graphic for work colleague's wedding invitations. A chill and engaging leisure-based easter.

My housemates are a bit messier than I'd like but I heard them being outraged at the united thing so they're alright mate
Until new staff members are trained up I am a bottleneck in stuff getting done and man it's not good
I once played Doom for, I think, around 6 or 7 hours straight only getting up to make a cup of tea here and there.
So, that night, I went to bed and I dreamt of Doom except at the end of one of the corridors was Airwolf and I still don't know how or why my brain linked these two things together.
it's amazing anyone finds time to get mad at video games when it's still considered acceptable to put raisins in desserts
I think part of why Doom works well for surrealism is that it's easy to lend a vague sense of purpose to a place without having to explicitly nail it down. You can passively build an impression from the texture usage, but the shapes are so weird and primitive and abstract that the picture stays incomplete.
It's the sort of thing you might experience in a dream; having a hazy idea of where you are, but not being able to really explain how you know that.
Via the important if true cast, I learn there are monitor arms you can clamp to desks! This would be perfect so I can move screen to work at desk and play games from bed. So today is a last-ditch attempt to figure out how to connect a flange to a standard monitor mount. Handyladying around.
About a year ago I bought a new monitor and almost immediately broke the stand off it while moving house, leaving just a flange sticking out the back. I can prop it up against the wall but it's useless since too far away, especially since I like to game from bed. I tried phoning HP and they don't seem to have an process for replacing stands, suggest I purchase new monitor.
instance admins do urself a favour and block shitposter.club before ur users find out first hand why that's a good idea
