Hey #believeinfilm friends,
I recently learned that Eastman Kodak has tightened its rules on bulk film sales. They are now blocking purchases unless they are meant for movie production:

This can mean a lot of things for our choices as film photographers as it affects many small businesses.
Reflx Lab confirmed this for me, and I've also received a comment from Analogue Wonderland on this topic.
Thoughts?
@analog_cafe I know Reflx Lab had posted this on a IG reel back in march of Kodak now requiring a "production form" when buying their movie film, so not that suprised that the "new management" is clamping down more.
I know the company down in Los Angeles called Photo Warehouse sells double-x & vision3 motion picture film in bulk & rerolled 35mm, you can email them & see if they're effected/what they say about it https://www.ultrafineonline.com/contact.html
@Huginn87OG Thank you! Will follow up.
@Huginn87OG @analog_cafe What every good, strong company needs is LESS CUSTOMERS!
@Huginn87OG @analog_cafe I suspect that should be fewer customers, but what the heck!
@carusb @Huginn87OG I'm certainly unhappy about this. But I think there's nuance to this development that comes from the fact that Kodak was split during the recent bankruptcy; these rules are the result of it agreeing with its former self so that Eastman doesn't cut into Alaris' profits. This is how I explained my understanding of the situation on Threads:
