Maybe use some of that $6 trillion to build the social safety nets we needed before this crisis and clearly still do.

If Republicans can conjure a half trillion for Cruise Ships, they can keep Social Security and Medicare afloat.

For years, Oregon has had a vote by mail system.

It works. Ballots and voters' pamphlets are sent to all voters.

If a recount is necessary, paper ballots are there. Voting is done within the privacy of one's home, without risking one's health.

All states should implement such a system and we should all be demanding our states implement a system like this immediately.

Even Joe Manchin gets this.

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin outlines Democratic concerns in coronavirus relief bill talks: “It seems like we are more focused on the big corporations and the health care of Wall Street than we are on the people in rural America and main street.”

This may or may not be a popular thought, but opinions on what's helpful on handling the crisis are generally less useful than direct information from the WHO or CDC or other medical professionals.

Everyone should be reading, sharing, and following it.

Florida's governor is ignoring the best way to slow the spread of and refuses to follow the need to shut down non-essential businesses for even a minimum amount of time.

He has no plans for helping the people affected by illness or job loss.

Here's something you can do with your down time today; leave a comment on what you think about lifting tariffs that accomplished nothing for Americans in the first place.

Why the administration isn't just moving on it shows you how much they care.

Although it's tempting to send a lot of off-topic comments, we should try and limit it for now to getting these supplies.

Trump officials seek public comment on removing tariffs on medical supplies from China:

Congress must stabilize state unemployment systems, which are overwhelmed. Congress must help independent contractors, sole proprietors, and any other workers who don't qualify for unemployment.

The Senate Republicans' relief bill fails on both. One-time tax rebates that many won't qualify for or loans aren't enough.

Call your Senator and tell them to support Chris Murphy's proposal. It will take just minutes and can save your community. 202-224-3121 📱📞

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

Stay home when you are sick.

Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

Wash your hands, practice social distancing, and stay home if that's an option.

Good news and an FYI for anyone trying to spin it otherwise:

Dan Lipinski isnt a centrist Democrat. He voted against the ACA, for DOMA, against DACA, refused to co-sponsor the Equality Act, signed on to a brief to overturn Roe in its entirety, and refused to endorse Obama in 2012. He wasn't popular with rank and file Democrats.

Marie Newman beat him in the primary. The district has undergone demographic changes and people got organized.

She'll be amazing.

Congratulations to Joe Biden for picking up the state of Florida.

Don't forget to work on flipping the Senate to Democrats or as close as possible.

As unlikely as it seems, It appears that Mitt Romney might go for some ideas that the rest of today's GOP won't. We could get some things accomplished.

Romney proposes giving $1,000 to every American adult as coronavirus response measure -

Good day.

This is a time of uncertainty for everyone and I know that can be discomforting and difficult to navigate.

One thing we can do is stay focused on what the goal has been day from one: electing Democrats down the ballot and getting Trump out of office.

Now is a great time for us all to be digital organizers. We can't underestimate the impact that connecting with each other has.
