If you're new - like me - to Scottish Mastodon, welcome! Thanks for the follow. This platform is a bit more 'clunky' than we are used to, but it offers us far more security than we have on Twitter and Facebook. There is less censorship and you have to work much harder to get booted out. This is where we can mobilise in peace.
We have a revolution to get started. Saor Alba a-nis! #Scotland
🔔 There's an App for that!
For those of you who like to toot on your devices, here's a wee App to get you started. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/toot/id1229021451
"'Everybody worships. The only choice is what we worship. Some people kneel to money, some to power, some to intellect.' And then he goes on to question the society that we live in, and the society that is driven by the world of greed and money and power. He does go on to say that the only way to combat this is to create a healthy confusion that sparks the need to question. Confusion, causing fear, making us question everything in search of some sense."

Independence must be justified in our difference, that England's politics is foreign politics. https://randompublicjournal.com/2020/01/06/converting-the-converted/
@Jeggit they will find it much harder to troll here because a) screenshots of toots are frowned on by the larger mastodon community and b) their usual weapon of quote tweeting is unavailable
@Jeggit
They'll start to set up accounts.on Mastodon soon. May be an idea for everyone to lock accounts so that followers need to be approved by the account holder. Slows things down a bit but should help protect from the orcs.
#DontFeedTheTrolls: But let's face it, sometimes it's too difficult to resist picking the low hanging fruit.
@Ryoko3 How are you finding it now? Did you find people?
@Jeggit Just received this from @lewisjohnt on Twitter:- https://twitter.com/lewisjohnt/status/1208424538918260736?s=21
when asking about the likelihood of .scot being shutdown:- so it’s all good 😁
*Nope, we subscribe to the Mastodon Server Covenant and would have to give our users six months notice if we decided to cease the service.*
joinmastodon.org/covenant states 3 months go plenty of time should someone wield the axe.
Hi, just joined, via link from @Jeggit - quick "hello" and I'll continue on with my Saturday evening.
Hope you're having a good one.

🏴 Well that escalated quickly! I'm really delighted to see so many have made it here safe and sound. This gets us away from the sinister stuff that has been happening on Twitter and Facebook lately. We have a chance to start afresh and continue working towards our goal of independence.
@lifewithoutnukes You made it! #TwitterExodusScotland

Migration to other domains
If you are thinking of migrating to other domains (or 'instances') within Mastodon - read this first. Make sure to download your data and upload it to your new account. Not doing this will lose you your followers, your favourites, lists, and block list etc. Crack on! https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2019/06/how-to-migrate-from-one-server-to-another/
