Picky dog won’t go out in the rain to relieve himself.

Quite weird to think a majority of the country voted for the other candidate, and now even the President who was elected is being usurped by anonymous actors.

Busy day (week) at work. Lots of SCOTUS-political news. But all I really want to be doing is playing .

I really hate the modern trend in search engines to show results that are missing one of my search terms. THERE’S A REASON I INCLUDED THAT TERM. PAGES WITHOUT IT AREN’T HELPFUL.

I'm sad that I still don't expect congressional Republicans to care about today's events, but it does give me some hope that we can now say, without any real counter-argument, that there's a credible allegation, made under oath, that Trump cheated. His campaign broke the law. He didn't play fair. His win has an asterisk.

Are people really expecting Mastodon to be politics-free rather than just Nazi-free? That’s going to be hard for me.

When I want to avoid politics, I go outside and go for a walk. Or play a video game.

this post is essentially just a press release for the company in question, but I still love the idea. "The system is 'fully charged' when the crane has created a tower of concrete blocks around it. The total energy that can be stored in the tower is 20 megawatt-hours (MWh), enough to power 2,000 Swiss homes for a whole day." qz.com/1355672/stacking-concre

I’m really not sure Mastodon’s abuse controls are going to fare any better than Twitter’s, or that it’s even going to take off in any real sense. But it gives me something to look at that’s not Twitter, and that’s probably healthy.

I use Fluid to create a decent Mac app for Mastodon without having to navigate tabs in a web browser: fluidapp.com. Also, @ticky created some really nice userstyles and a userscript to make it even better: gist.github.com/ticky/8acf2350e7883c626e4902633a8f3dc6

I went to order my afternoon latte and my barista asked me about Mastodon.

Seriously. This actually happened.

All he knows is that I sit in his coffee shop all day working on something having to do with Twitter and that there's a bunch of bad news about Twitter today.

I saw something earlier today on Mastodon that I want to go back to. No way to search for it. That’s frustrating.

The thing I might miss most about Objective-C? The “NS” prefix on class names meant I could seach the web for them and get results for the right language.

Now if only I could figure out how to lowercase the first letter of my handle…
