If you have just installed Mastodon and don't know where to start to find people to follow a good idea is to try and check other users follows and one by one try to see if you find someone to follow.
Alternatively you can go to https://communitywiki.org/trunk and do the same on the categories that interest you.
If you are lazy and don't want to look up one by one, I created a little script to generate a csv from Trunk categories: https://hugo.gameiro.pt/trunk-to-csv/ that you can then import in Mastodon.
@hugo Thanks for this.Way back in Nov 2019 when Mastodon saw a lot of Indian twiterati come on board @jamewils put out some guides, think they could be useful still:https://mstdn.social/@jamewils/103136470926031216
@KayKap That is a pretty solid thread. Thanks for sharing and thanks @jamewils for making it.
@hugo Yes, it is! Was helpful for a lot of us. @jamewils did good!
May I suggest that you add his link into your tips... that would make both a true powerhouse, if you don't mind, that is!
@KayKap I don't have a list of tips but I have saved the link to share with people if ever I find a use for it. Thank you so much.
@hugo You are welcome! @jamewils
