@Kensan Judging by his e-mail, I'd say he has been finding himself increasingly at odds with the greater community anyway. His words: "fighting" for a PEP that, frankly, looked like it was common sense.

For better or for worse, you're not a dictator if you have to fight with your community to get something adopted. I think Guido finally realized he has more important things to do with his time, and I can't say I blame him.

@vertigo It’s sad to see he felt he had to step away from “his” project but kudos to him for following through and deciding he did not want to spend his time this way.
