is it just me or is the new event input widget on google calendar pretty broken? with the old one it would (usually correctly) guess the time of the event if you just typed it in—e.g., "5pm-7pm dentist appointment" would create an event called "dentist appointment" from 5pm-7pm on the day you clicked. now it just creates an all-day event called "5pm-7pm dentist appointment" and you have to use the fiddly drop-down things to enter a time? or am I just doing it wrong?

I might actually just... get a pen-and-paper planner? since it fulfills many of my needs (portable, intuitive input interface, contents largely invisible to data mining) with few drawbacks

@aparrish Works for me. There's always a risk of data loss/corruption, digital or not. I always buy a planner in a bright color and put an email address inside. Have not lost one (for more than a few hours) yet.
You also avoid updates, cloud issues and fighting with flaky software. And it can serve as a kind of interesting archive years later (when the software is dead).
Follow friends and discover new ones. Publish anything you want: links, pictures, text, video. This server is run by the main developers of the Mastodon project. Everyone is welcome as long as you follow our code of conduct!
