I had never heard this translation before but it is now my favorite thing.

"Look we can solve economic inequality completely, across all people everywhere. Google, how much money is in the world?"
"Estimates put it at 5 trillion dollars, 80 trillion if you include 'Broad Money'"
"Google, divide $5 trillion by 7.7 billion people."
"The answer is about $649."
"Wait, shit, this is a bad example!"

Lately I noticed that I develop a habit I only knew from Twitter before: I stay out of discussions just because I think I will not manage to make my point in 500 chars or that the discussion will soon become to complex to fit in 500 chars. That's sad, I really like Mastodon. But lively discussions are a core value of social networking to me and I feel that a character limit doesn't support it, quite the opposite. (1/4)

bitcoin, spam Show more
BTC is nice. So you get some spam, where there are some stupid claims that should trick you into transferring BTC worth a couple hundred $ to an address.
Then you look up the address (https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1KxCvtggcPd7c9UtUxYkJW2AwCQMknJkth in this case) and see an incoming transaction. Even if you know there's always someone stupid enough to get tricked into, it nevertheless is fascinating to see it happening.
