Inaugural Post for Lemmy, a decentralized, easily self-hostable / link aggregator alternative, intended to work in the :

github.com/dessalines/lemmy/

@LemmyDev Also just in case ppl are wondering, I'm the dev, so you can ask questions to either account.

@LemmyDev damn, just five minutes ago I was literally thinking "someone should build a federated reddit". commendable alacrity on your part

@aeonofdiscord Haha thanks, ya this is the only thing I could think of that was missing from the fediverse. We have twitter, fb, insta, medium alternatives, but no reddit ones. Prismo is another good one, but I wanted to build my own, and learn rust and activitypub in the process.

@aeonofdiscord Also the federation part of it isn't working yet, its in active development, but everything else is (moderation, posting, etc)

@roselove
Tu avais vu passer ça ? Un reddit open-source, on avait déjà, mais celui-ci implémente ActivityPub.
Moi j'y vois un potentiel de ouf pour de la veille ! Neeeed!

@LemmyDev welcome!
I really like your project, looking forward to create a Lemmy instance soon!

@filippodb
Sweet, thanks! Let me know if you need any assistance too once you get to it.

@LemmyDev thanks, I really need a sleek aggregator to complete my own fediverse network! But like I did with peertube, I'll wait somebody made a hosting service like app.spacebear.ee or masto.host so to save time and headache ;)
