In an attempt to make my script more easily readable for beta readers, I color-coded the character dialogues a la homestuck. And honestly, I think Im gonna start doing it in future scripts for myself too, because wow it’s really helpful.
Maybe I just process things easier visually or something but I feel like if prose books had this I would read so much more lol
thinking about fantasy names
One of my favorite fantasy tropes is when they reuse regular words and apply them to their fantastic concepts, instead of coming up with new words for everything.
Like, Dogs Are Different There, or That Words Means Something Else. I find it more interesting and often more intuitive.
I think part of it is that the words feel like they belong to the language (because they do lol), Instead of feeling like you’re reading a translation (even if you technically are).
Hello world! I doubt Twitter will be restoring access to my account, so I'm going to use this as an opportunity to take a break from Twitter at the very least. Tell those who might be interested where I am and encourage them to set up a Mastodon account. Dajiaweibo is a great instance with no approval process, so you can be up and running instantly!
me and my friends are all reading the same book except they're reading the spanish translation and im listening to the uk english audiobook.
It's funny to see all the little differences in interpretation we get, considering neither of us is reading the actual original books written for an US audience. And it gets even weirder with all the fantasy names lol they get odd translations, I get odd pronunciations XD
I make a webcomic and other stuff too??
