Welcome to all of mastodon.social’s new users! If you haven’t already, please read the Code of Conduct:
We take a hard stance against rightwing bigotry here on m.s., so feel free to report accounts you see spreading any hateful, xenophobic or otherwise bigoted content.
As a personal note, when reporting, please include context and a description of why you reported the specific user/toot, so that we can better understand the situation.
Instances like .switter and .sinblr are perfectly acceptable and, since they are different instances, do not have to follow .social's Code of Conduct.
If you don't want to see their content, I suggest you hide the instance. This can be done by going to the user page of an account from that instance, clicking on the menu button (three dots), and selecting "hide everything from."
For those new users who want to contribute to the Mastodon Project (the open source software that runs .social and other instances on the Fediverse) as a whole:
For those interested in supporting Eugen and mastodon.social specifically:
@LuigiEsq thanks for that bit about dogpiling. It's one of the things that makes the Birdsite unbearable.
@shirishag75 I’m not so into the tech side so I may be wrong but I was under the impression that this was more for discussion and troubleshooting and not related to the monetary side
@LuigiEsq oh my bad, was thought you were wanting people to get into development as well. I miscontrued your meaning of the word 'contribute' to mean to development rather than financial contribution .
@shirishag75 not a problem at all! And folks are still more than welcome to contribute there too!
@LuigiEsq can I dox my harasser?
@LuigiEsq Do you know how long my son sat that and went 'Toot? TOOOOT!' and laughed hysterically when he saw that button?
This did not pass the juvenile boy giggle test.
@LuigiEsq is there a policy about casteism?
